Yes i hate and despise this kind of garbage and I don't care what anyone thinks about it.
Why couldn't Spock and Uhura get together? Who is all grown up? The crew? If so, what were they before?
There are a thousand pairings out there I don't like, and while I look for what I want to see I find that too. Do I yell at people (I regard unnecessary use of capitalisation as they typeface equivalent to yelling) because I don't like what they draw? My mother is an artist, and I don't like all she draws. I wonder what she'd tell me if I asked her what was wrong with her. Probably to sod off and bug someone else.
We don't know if they're gay. I can see why people (myself included) tend to think so. I for one cannot see Bones as gay, though many do, and yet I don't resent slash with Bones at all. I just can't see it. Do I fell compelled to flame others because of that? Strangely, no.
In Star Trek there's no pairing that really squicks me, in others (e.g. Harry Potter is one with many of those) there are. Do I tell people something is wrong with them if they write or draw these pairings? No.
So why do you? What was your goal, what did you mean to achieve with your comment? Because all you did achieve was amuse the artist. And me, of course, if that isn't evident.
I find your reaction rather homophobic. And even if you say you are not, then why such a strong response? I see characters slashed all the time, characters I really cannot see as gay. I register it, shake my head (if at all), and move on. Who am I to judge others? Who are you?
By the way, none of the actors nor the producers did anything at all to stop the tidal wave that was slash and that originated in the 60s from these two very characters. Not one of them ever said that they were not an item, and they were asked often enough. Their answers were vague at best, and Gene Roddenberry said things that sound very much as if that was precisely what they were all thinking. And since you mentioned Sulu, I'll just assume you are well aware that George Takei is gay. And so is Zachary Quinto.
Takei a pimp? I'm trying (and failing) to picture the man in an attire similar to Bones in The Motion Picture when he first came aboard there. He did look the part.
Gay is not the same as transgender, but that's a different matter entirely. And like I said, I found so many things I didn't look for, that's in the nature of the internet. Neither you nor I can do anything against that. Exclusive searches on dA are very unwieldy, so we can't prevent that really.
I didn't mean to be disrespectful of you as a person or your opinion, I tried to politely disagree. If you want to sum up the sermon it would read: Chill, woman. Life's easier that way and your chances not to have a heart attack some time soon a lot higher
Wonderful art!
